Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), commonly known as "Plastic King", is a high molecular polymer produced by polymerizing tetrafluoroethylene monomer, with a chemical formula of (C2F4)n. It has excellent heat and cold resistance and can be used for long periods of time at -180~260ºC. This material has the characteristic of being resistant to acids, alkalis, and various organic solvents, and is almost insoluble in all solvents. At the same time, PTFE has the characteristic of being resistant to high temperatures, and its friction coefficient is extremely low, so it can be used as an ideal coating for cleaning the inner layer of water pipes in addition to its lubricating function. On October 27, 2017, the International Agency for Research on Cancer of the World Health Organization released a preliminary reference list of carcinogens, and PTFE was listed in the third category of carcinogens.

PTFE is a white, odorless, tasteless, and non-toxic powder, commonly known as "Plastic King". It has excellent chemical stability, corrosion resistance, sealing performance, high lubricity, non-stickiness, electrical insulation, and good aging resistance. It is heat-resistant and can be used at a working temperature of up to 250℃. It is also cold-resistant and has good mechanical toughness at low temperatures. Even at a temperature of -196℃, it can maintain a 5% elongation rate. It is corrosion-resistant and exhibits inertia to most chemical drugs and solvents, and can withstand strong acids, alkalis, water, and various organic solvents. It has good weather resistance and has the best aging life among plastics. It is highly lubricated and has the lowest friction coefficient among solid materials. It is non-adhesive and has the smallest surface tension among solid materials, and does not adhere to any substance. It is non-toxic and has physiological inertness, and can be implanted in the human body for a long time as an artificial blood vessel or organ without any adverse reactions.
